About Program:

Early childhood music classes at the Music and Dance Academy offer children from birth to seven years of age opportunities to make music in a joyful, nurturing environment.

Music and movement activities have a powerful impact on the development of such fundamental elements as language enhancement, literacy development, motor coordination, creativity, concentration, and social cooperation. The following age-appropriate classes play an important role in fostering the development of the "whole child" and a foundation for a lifetime involvement with music and the arts.

In Kindermusik “Village”, parents and babies experience purposeful musical activities that stimulate cognitive, verbal, social, emotional and physical developments from as early as the first days of a child’s life. Kindermusik provides a community of support and caring, nurturing the bond between caregiver and child. Multi-level activities such as creative movement, vocal play, and object/instrument exploration are incorporated into this program to provide a unique introduction to the world of living and the world of music for any baby.

Kindermusik “Our Time” (1 ½ to 3 ½ years)

Our Time focuses on the child’s natural emotional development and recognizes the need for both the freedom to try, and the assurance of the caregiver’s support. Singing fosters the language skills of listening and response, while imitative movements and sounds help to develop self-expression, coordination and further the progress of vocabulary development. Exploration of basic percussive instruments in this program provides a great foundation for further music development.

“Imagine That,” continues the child’s incredible musical journey of discovery and exploration. As your child moves from receptive to expressive learning, pretend play activities are integrated with musical and vocal development, storytelling, and literature, encouraging cognitive development, creativity and individuality. Basic music elements such as timbre, pitch and rhythm are introduced through singing and playing on instruments.
