Ariel Parkington Ariel Wing Parkington grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Her parents are both accomplished musicians, and her childhood was immersed in music. She began playing violin at age eight. In 1995, she entered into the New England Conservatory of Music Preparatory School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston University in 2001, where she studied with violin virtuoso and pedagogue Roman Totenburg, and Boston Symphony Orchestra and Muir String Quartet member Lucia Lin. She received her Master of Music degree at the University of Arizona, under the direction of Mark Rush. She has performed as a member of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (GBYSO), Cape, Nashua, and Reading Symphony Orchestras, Plymouth Philharmonic, Provincetown Chamber Players, and Plymouth Chamber Music Festival. Ms. Parkington's musical career has resulted in interactions with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Samuel Sanders, Andres Diez, Raphael Hillyer, and the Emerson, Lydian, Muir, and Borromeo String Quartets. In 2003, she was the featured soloist with the Kingsbury Strings Chamber Orchestra in a concert presented by the Bermuda Arts Council, and Bermuda Suzuki Association to benefit Bermuda's first community music library. She is currently a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
